B737-800 take-off with A/T + TOGA

hello, I've got a question about the 737-800.

If want to take-off by using A/T and TOGA, how will the take off thrust be managed?

For example, I'm the PF and at the beginning of the take off run I press the TOGA swithces and a/t is engaged. Then call ''take-off thrust'' , and the PNF should then set the take off thrust. But if autothrottle is engaged..how can he do that manually? Should he disconnect it?

hello

Actually, A/T will do that automatically. Pilot monitoring is supposed to monitor if the A/T does it as it computed in N1 page or Take off page of the FMS. That is, PM will compare the value of what A/T brings the trust lever, with the value computed and displayed in FMS. Most likely it will be the same resulting with the call out "Take off trust set". In some cases somehow A/T doesn't move forward the levers as it is supposed to do. In this case The PM is expected to adjust power manually.

As Sinanerdem says, setting take off thrust is simply ensuring the a/t increases the thrust to that set in the FMC. And remember at around 80 kts (84 I think), the a/t will enter arm mode, so if any manual tweaking of the thrust is required, it can be done, without the a/t returning to its previous setting. If the a/t is working correctly though it should be at the correct thrust way before this.
