Question re Embraer RJ's
 

Could any of the ERJ's operate off a 1,400 metre (4,950 feet) runway fully laden with enough fuel for a 1,100 nm sector? (Assume said runway is at sea level and standard temp. and pressure.)

Indeed, could any regional airliner (jet or prop)?

Depends which ERJ you mean...? The 145 definately can`t

I believe the ATR42/72 could, but with some payload limitations.

Cyrano - Do you think an ATR could do it with a p/l limitation which wouldn't make an operator deem it totally unprofitable? (i.e. if limited to - say - 25-30 pax - would it be totally unprofitable over 1,100nm sector?)

Bom dia Midland63 (assuming my ICAO lookup is correct)!

Page 5 of this ATR-72 brochure has a payload-range chart and some information about field requirements which may help. IMHO it doesn't look as though the field length is too limiting for your application.

Hope that helps! (It'd be a long sector time in an ATR, though - if you're evaluating props, have you considered a Q400?)

Yes, I believe SATA Air Acores are looking at the Q400 to replace their BAe ATP's.
