Southwest & the Cockpit Interior
Hello Guys,
by chance I came across the following: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/881760/L/ Southwest seems to operate even the very new 737-2nd Gen's with traditional Cockpit Interior. (N399WN was delivered in 1995). How can that be related wiz the licences taking into consideration that in the B737NG's Southwest is using the latest state of art? http://www.airliners.net/open.file/727914/L/ Do they have 2 Pilot-Entitiys for the 2 Generations or is the FAA so "friendly";) to allow WN-Pilots the operation of both models? It lloks a bit odd, but as soon as the IRSes on the NG will be aligned and the missing parts of the picture are displayed you'll see the presentation is quite similar.
OK, one has separate instruments, and the other one has them drawn on the displays. Nothing unusual I'd say.:ok: |

Danish maersk air has/had the same setup.

From what some of my friends who fly the NG have told me. Boeing have 'dumbed' it down in order for it to be a CCQ qual.

I seriously doubt there is any need to make the NG dumber than it is (in fact, how much dumber can it get) in order to match up with the classic :}
