Hi all,

Flying past Prague the other day the ATIS was as follows:

R/W30 Gapped 100% Contamination Braking Action Good 210/12 ....... etc.

I have never come accross Gapped before and have no idea what it means. Can anyone help?

Say time, wonder if there are friends who can retrieve the tape.

Lowkey:

Could it have possibly been DAMP? See http://lineart.wz.cz/atis.php?in=lkpr for latest record and a database, which currently dates back to 11/18.

FD: jsi me predbehl ;)

we listened 7 or 8 times but ....... cannot be positive. Didn't realise you could pull up historical ATIS cheers.

ok1 6th Dec 2005 12:23

I can send you the current recording if you wish

OK

FlightDetent 6th Dec 2005 12:39

I listened to the present about 6 times now and even if it says DAMP it sounds just a tiny bit like "damped" (now that is a seriously silly idea).

Lowkey: Any chance getting the old one from the system? We're eager to know.

ok1: Nice link,

FD.

Thanks everyone for all your help. You are quite correct it was DAMP as I have pulled up the ATIS for the date of the flight around the right time. It sounded so much like Gapped. Ear washing time.

Cheers

In relation to this. In UK we give runway surface conditions in thirds ( touch down, mid point, stop end ). So even if damp in all sectors ATIS would have said " Damp, Damp, Damp". I thought this was a standard. Would it have helped or would you just have heard " gapped, gapped, gapped" and been even more confused!

Edited to say. To my colleagues in Praha. Cracking City, loved my visit! Any jobs going!!!!
