hubcaps on the 737NG
I have heard that the hubcaps on the 737NG series aircraft have several different important functions, can someone please inform me about it.
thank you /eightsOn |
Yeah, when you come to a screeching halt, they keep spinning, looks cool man!

Was that on "pimp my ride"?
|
Man, r they too cheap to put "dubz"

Eightson - not sure about the NG but on the 'classic' they 'fair' the retracted wheels which partly avoids the need for doors that cover the wheels. I suspect it is the same on the NG.

I am lead to beleive they are part of the anti-skid system and you can't dispatch without them. Looking in the MEL I can't find a reference, but like I said that's what I am lead to beleive.

Do Easyjet 737NGs lose many hub caps in LPL?

Southwest recently reported to the Detroit Metropolitan Police Department that they have been experiencing a rash of thefts of hub caps from their aircraft...

You need to hold them on with twisty ties.
