KEWR approach 29

Hi

While at Newark last week i was watching local carriers perform approaches to 29 which seemed to follow the hudson(1500) to around liberty island then a right turn descending to runway 29. When i got home i checked Jeppview and could not see this procedure,is it a new one or is it a special local radar approach.just curious

cheers Keith

Rw 29 EWR

There is an RNAV approach RNV N or RNV S depending on which direction you are coming from which will provide horizontal and vertical guidance.

Most of the locals however (Continental) will cut inside this to avoid going too far east, 800' over the bridge directly east of the approach end works well.

Usual clearance is 'xxxx cleared for the ILS 22l, at the marker circle east, cleared to land 29'
