Q codes

Can anyone help, looking for info relating to Q codes. Basically I would like to know what they all stand for. Can't seem to find out.

Thanks

One thing: the list that I referred to gives you the interpretation of the codes but no information regarding the origin or logic behind the choice of letters as far I know.

As far as I know the origins of the Q codes were from when morse was the method of communication (far quicker to spell Q** than "request weather at destination":} - in fact still far quicker to say QFE then " pressure setting at airfield level"

As for the choice of letters - Some connection between the meaning and chioce of letters would be nice, but if there are several thousand I think that would be asking a bit much! :D

Hams still use the Q codes. They are very handy and you don't need to know more than a few for everyday communication - QTH, QRM, QSB, QRU, QSY and one or two others.
