Reserves (fmc - 737ng /747)

Hi,

What is the tipical amount that is carried for in the reserves for the 737-NG and 747-400?

Thank you
Bruno

Do you mean reserves as a percentage of the total fuel on board, or the quantity of fuel in the reserve tanks (744)?
744 reserve tanks (at the wingtips) carry 4 - 4.5T each depending on density.

Hey CR2,

The quantity entered in the FMC (PERF INT Page), or, the quantity that is left one flight is completed showed in the Upper Eicas display (744... Example 25x1000)

Best,
Bruno

In our 744s on international flights, 10.5 tonnes, or FAA required reserves, whichever is greater.

10.5 for every international flight meaning that Nautical Miles / ALTRN Airport don't matter?

Thanks!
Bruno

Your question is not clear ? What is it you wish to know ?

Reserve fuel is normally a combination of 2 (or possibly more ) variables. One is the fuel required to the alternate airport and the other is a fixed holding reserve ( often 30 minutes). There may be other factors involved that mean the figure is nearly always going to differ from one flight to the next, certainly from one aircraft type to the next.

I supect this is a flight sim' type question but perhaps you could clarify what it is you actually want to know ?
