Type Rating - IR Renewal?

If you do an initial type rating course on a jet ie 733 does it count for a renewal of an instrument rating done on a light twin?

Cheers

Sort of.
You'll do an LST which covers an IR renewal. However, your IR will be valid for multi crew operations on the 733. It won't be valid for single pilot ops. That's another renewal.
The CAA's LASORS might shed some light on that one.

But if you have a current CPL or ATPL with IR of any sort, you will still have IMC rating priveldges on light a/c.
