Corona - Aircrew Travel Restrictions?

Hi Chaps,

I have simulator coming up in France, but the EU country that I reside in has recently been put on the red zone for France. Which means my company will try find a way not to pay myself and some other rotating crew within red zones once again by using the excuse they can't move crew around due to Corona.

So if possible I'd like to find out if anyone has some suggestions as to how your companies are managing to move you around the globe without requiring 14 days quarantine in each country OR how are you able to get to simulator/work in foreign countries as aircrew without too many problems?

Anything in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

RC

On a side note, our company are making exactly the same income as they were before Corona because all our contracts are long term government contracts. This has not changed, but of course creative accountants will always find a way to try save some cash regardless.

One way it is being done - UK company with quite a few pilots not resident in the UK but living in places such as France and Spain, etc.

It was agreed (with the authorities) that if you entered the UK as a passenger from a country on the "not exempt from quarantine" list then you had to comply with normal quarantine/confinement at suitable accommodation. However during that quarantine period you were allowed to travel direct to and from place of isolation to your place of work to perform any rostered duty - Flight/Ground Training/Sim..

If you operated an international flight during that period then on return to UK then the quarantine requirement was lifted.

That's fantastic thanks, I will look into that with regards to France. Hopefully it's got a similar set rules and regulations.
