LogTen Pro PICUS hours
Hi folks,
I’ll try to keep it short. I need to show the CAA my P1u/s or PICUS hours. I use legten pro and for each flight I have the relevant captain as P1 myself P2 and I am able to tick a box of I flew that sector. Now when I generate a logbook it tells me my landings etc on that sector but it will not generate my time as PICUS. Any tips or advice?

Just completing the takeoff/landing doesn't make those hours PICUS. You should really be acting as PIC for that sector for them to count as such, and technically the logbook needs to be countersigned by the de-jure commander. Nether-the-less, it seems to have become common for PICUS to be logged any time you are PF, and the UK CAA for one doesn't seem to care about countersigning. There should be an option in Logten (under the 'time' section when logging a flight' to add a P1u/s field, or you can create a custom PICUS field if you wish and log the hours that way - I think you will have to go through each flight and add them in. If doing so for ATPL upgrade you will likely only need a couple of hundred hours or so to meet the requirements, afterwhich there is no point logging them anymore that I am aware of.
The most PICUS a CPL holder should need is 150 - to reach the 250 required for ATPL issue. (And arguably 500 if you’ve got an MPL).
Anything over that and you’re just asking to have your CV binned by any future employer.

LogTen allows to log PICUS as P1u/s. However you have to use it of course to be able to track those hours. Used it during my linetraining as a commander as technically the trainer was PIC, even when he was on the jumpseat.
The PF equals PICUS thing is a UK speciality, be very careful elsewhere as EASA requires an approved training during which you can log PICUS.

Recommend you make sure you have your logbook backed up before doing this.
1. Go into preferences under the "Time" tab and select "PICUS" column for display, also select "autofill from total time". (It's called "PICUS" in my version because it knows I'm Australian, yours may be P1/US or something.)
2. Create a smart group that gives you the flights you are interested in, e.g., display flights with you as the handling pilot and in the appropriate aircraft type and/or appropriate date range.
3. In the smart group folder, select all of the flights by selecting the top one then using SHIFT+select for the bottom one. Unlock them if required.
4. In the PICUS field you should be able to insert the curser and type a space. This should fill the PICUS field with the total time from each selected flight.
5. Delete the P2 field for all selected flights by inserting the curser and typing 0.
6. If you balls it up, restore from your backup
