Yes - you can get music on HF, but AM is better than USB for music.
BBC World Service has music at times - Get frequencies on their website.
Maybe better for music would be Radio Netherlands Wereld Omroep.
My tastes for music are likely to be different than yours.
I used to listen to Classical... Radio Moscow was good for that.

Sorry, retired, my notebook with HF frequencies not handy...!
Generally music stations can be found on 13, 16, 19, 25, 31, 41, 49 meters.
See Google to get frequencies in mHz.
Then proceed in these bands by steps of 5 kHz.
Try as an example between 9700 and 9995 kHz for music.
High frequencies good during day, lower good at night.

Using a radio station ADF signal for navigation is a big no no. That' s probably why I am still alive after 40 years flying. Anyway, you'll only get good reception in the TMA, and there are more important issues. I recall a Brazillian B737 crashing in the eighties, because the pilots were listening to a football match and ran out of fuel. Listen to the radio at home or in your car. Better still, become a DJ and leave flying to the professionals.

Yep, as already stated 909 and 693 for BBC Radio 5 ( and you can sometimes get that out to 30 West on the North Atlantic, gives you UK sport and the state of the M25 carpark, and makes a pleasant change from listening to the Baseball scores ) and 198 for Radio 4 and the Test Cricket...oh hang on, perhaps not

Frequency

Amplitude Modulation uses a range of frequencies 530 to 1710 kilocycles. You can find stations within that range. Make no mistake that broadcast radio stations must not be used for navigation.

Remember many Ppruners are from the rest of the world, where a frequency "band" is not expressed (like in North America) by its modulation type. AM is a mode of radio transmission and not a "band". In the USA, they call the MW Medium Waves the "AM Band", and there is no LW "Long Waves" in use by the people to "listen to music" on their transistor radios.

And that HF sets often have a selector for AM, USB or LSB...

Sure - as you and others mention "do not use radio broadcast stations" for navigation, it remains though, that in North America, the FCC requires radio station identitifications "so many times per hour"... to confirm their location. With little airplanes in California, I often made a "KGIL" approach on 1260 kHz to land in Van Nuys, and listen to news on KCBS between Honolulu and Los Angeles on 1070... with the ADF pointing to the way I was going to... That is the way Lindbergh and Doolittle did it flying the mail in their days...

Not for navigation use, never meant to prevent you from getting a general idea of directions. At 30š West on the Atlantic, I always tuned BBC on 198 kHz on the ADF. If we lost our Doppler, our Loran-A and Consol, we could still get a QDM towards Ireland and UK thanks to... the BBC...!
