Very interesting this thread in that there seems to be only one person offering up personal abuse. Can some one remind me that saying about leading a horse to water.
If that were the case any reputable cabin crew would have made an announcment to reassure passengers, and if not, a press of the call button would have enabled any passenger to seek reassurance. If you are not happy with the service received a letter to the airline expressing your dissatifaction and seeking answers will do more good than airing it on a forum. The airline has it within its remit the ability to change things, talk to the crew concerned etc. If you can state the airline, the flight number and date on the forum here its highly likely that you will get an answer from the crew concerned.

Another passengers view
Hi, I though I would throw a passenger view point in for you.
I am something of a regular flyer (job related means I fly on average 4x a month). For many years I could count myself as a confident and relaxed passenger whatever the weather. I trusted the pilots, had enough knowledge of aircraft, air travel and weather to know what was happening and why.
But all of that changed - I had a bad car crash. Now normally this would not be connected with air travel atall. But I was suitably disturbed by the accident that I needed to be in control of every aspect of my life (normal reaction to a serious car crash). So now I am a very nervous flyer. My anxiety levels and fear of a rough flight and a feeling of not being in control are quite bad.
So how do I keep flying? Simple. I use a combination of music through my Ipod, normally a calming song. I look at the world going past - the spectacular beauty of the world at 36000ft is amazing. And most importantly, trust the crew. They know best. If the don't tell me what is happening then it isnt worth talking about.
I hope this helps you a bit. Keep on flying. How else will you see the world?

That's an excellent therapy for dealing with those feelings of hysteria. I would imagine another is to force yourself to get stuck into a favourite author's book or concentrate on a movie/TV program. People speak well of the Fear of Flying courses. But it ultimately comes down to: if you want to fly, what are you going to do about your own problem? Find your own therapeutic things, do a course, but don't necessarily expect the crew to pander to you and indulge your panic with constant PAs, which can be annoying to the vast majority. It is not being brutal, but if you hate boats leaning over and panic, don't go sailing- you'll spoil the day for others, if you hate boats rocking, don't go to sea. If you can't take turbulence that a ppl wouldn't flinch over, don't go flying.
Well done for rationalising the cause and working out a treatment and finding a partial solution that helps for you. I'm sure you will find with every flight, the problem progressively recedes.

And i wont ever stop flying cuz i get to see the world, but i wont take my complaint back either cuz like most pilots here have said, it takes 2 seconds out of your flight to explain, not a lot to ask for is it?? also like to add i wouldnt expect to be "Pandered to" either but this WAS a partuclarly rocky ride, like the other op said enough for crew to be ordered to sit down.... thankyaaaaaaauuuu

Still waiting to hear from Servisair, its been 5 WEEKS !!!!
Prob wont take that one felt it was a bit of a farcical interview.
