hi all.

just wondering if klm ever flies any of its 747-400f aircraft into South africa?

Short answer no. The freighters rarely make ad-hoc trips. We have scheduled rotations out the far-east only with tech and loading stops spread around ALA, IST, DXB. Fourth freighter is coming in about a year, and some new routes will be opened. Never heard a rumor about South Africa being part of that plan.
