Modular Training - PPL in US?
I am about to make a final choice of how to do my training towards frozen ATPL (ab initio). One consideration is to take the modular route.
I was wondering what the best schools are in the US for PPL and hour building. I understand Florida Institute of Technology has quite a good reputation. Also are there any opinions on Delta Conection Academy (Comair)? Thanks, Steve. |
If is it just a PPL you plan to do, then you don't need a JAR PPL to begin modular flying training. You could go anywhere in the US and train for an FAA PPL and hour build from there on.
I have been a customer of three schools in California: Ahart Aviation, Livermore Mazzei Flying Service, Fresno Anglo American Aviation, San Diego I would definitely recommend the first two (although NOT the last one) although if you are going over the winter, parts of CA can be affected by costal and valley cloud. Florida is meant to be a better location for flying training in winter (never flown there though). Just as an aside, I have recently returned from a trip to the US and was managing to fly 5 hours a day (with a rest stop) without any real fatigue. PM me if you need any more information about any of the above schools. Good luck!! |
