USA visa delayed

Just as a quick note of interest, I recently went to the US Embassy in London for an M-1 with all the necessary documentation, sat in the queue for three hours and was then told my passport was too scruffy and I had to get a new one before they would issue me with a visa. My passport is hardly scruffy and when I went to the UK passport office they asked me why I was replacing it as there was nothing wrong with it ! This episode has delayed my trip by two weeks and cost me a few bucks.

Just something to be aware of if your passport is looking tired!

Cheers,

BG

Perhaps you should change the post to read delayed rather than refused! Could put you in the wrong light if you were indeed refused! I am sure that you will not have any problems with your new passport......did you put it in the washing machine?

No washing machine, just a little rough around the edges! It's cost me a couple of hundred quid from the resulting delays so I thought it was worth mentioning.
