Does anyone know of employment opportunities in Oz for comm pilots from South Africa. I am a degreed profesional B.Com (Aviation) and MBA with CPL and acredited Ground School Instructor. Age 35, white male, married with 3 kids and qualify points wise for entry to Oz. Can anyone give guidence or help.

Job situation in Oz is pretty grim at the moment. There is an oversupply of low houred pilots (always is) and untill recently there was a shortage of experienced pilots. With the demise of Flight West, Ansett and her regionals there is now a glutt of experienced pilots in Oz. Quite a few have been recruited by Virgin Blue, Qantas (and the regionals) and Cathay. However, there are still many waiting to get another job or are looking over seas (again).
Sorry to be a bit doom and gloomish but there you go....
