CAA Lasors

Hi

Im currently working through my Aeroplane Technical (Trev Thom) for my PPL and there is a label at the top left of the front cover saying 'CAA LASORS recommended'. My question is..What are the CAA LASORS?

Cheers in advance

Dave

LAS - Licensing, Administration and Standardisation
ORS - Operating Requirements and Safety

Its a 600+ page A5 book with general frequently asked questions on the above subjects that have been asked by licence holders to the CAA.

I was able to pick up a 2002 book for a fiver from the CAA when I visited the 'grey' building. Not sure what it should cost. Give them a call may still have some old (2002) for sale if your after one.

As stated above by take-that.

LASORS can be read directly from the CAA Website or, by completing the application form to have a copy of the current edition mailed directly to your house.

This years cost - including postage - £13.20

(By the way - bluddy good book).

The 2003 version is vastly improved compared to the 2002 edition. Lots of good stuff and it has all the licencing requirements from PPLs up to examiners. It also has a load of stuff on general aviaion airmanship and safety issues. It is worth the £13 in my view!

LASOR

I think you can just download it on pdf (acrobat format) on their site. That's what I did.

Go here:LASORS

Right click the links and select "save as"
Put it in a nice and neat folder and there you have it.

Nothing wrong with that - a very cheap way of doing it - but it's a thick book - and a bugga to read in .pdf format (and cheaper to buy than print out).

Geez, it was only a fiver last year... thats some inflation...
