Ronchonner

I've only been here two weeks, I don't want to upset anyone, or get chucked off, or anything like that...But I am already fed up of reading ronchonner's comments, and generally poor humour. I'm a wannabe, and find the majority of the info on the board really helpful, but I can't see how ronchonner is helping anyone...
Anyone similar thoughts?

Regards, and throw whatever you like at me ron, I'm 0 hours, no experience whatsoever - but I just think you should think a bit before you press the submit button...

Dutchman 14th May 2001 22:46

Not again.

Tarmach 14th May 2001 22:55

At least Ronnie's last post demostrated that his English has improved greatly from his previous attempts. His English teacher must be very pleased with his progress. He has also dropped that rhetorical business; "no offence, ok?"

But as they say its a long road to recovery.

Tarmach.

SpeedBird22 14th May 2001 23:08

Hehehe I agree Tarmach - it looks like the rehab is going well and Ronnie is nearly ready to re-enter the community as a useful citizen.

D11 - Now theres a comforting thought....

quidam 14th May 2001 23:23

Not sure who, but someone once said " It's hard to fly with eagles when you work with turkeys" Living proof that its not impossible!!! I'm a training 'rotor' wannabe but read this section because I'm curious. The skill anywhere is to seperate the wheat from the chaff. You've already worked out that whatever 'Ronnie' has to say is probably hot air to begin with so accept what you read on that basis.Stick with your 'plan' and one day his rantings just won't matter anymore. Lifes to short and the world too small (especially in this industry) to 'throw yer teddy'. You can watch the clowns and still enjoy lifes circus. Good luck mate.

Tor 15th May 2001 00:16

Did you notice that he's topic had been trasfered to the Administrators forum?

Will Ronchonner be the first to get the boot from pprune (or have there been others in the past)?

Luke SkyToddler 15th May 2001 02:20

No there's been others Tor - a certain Captain Ed over in Jet Blast got the treatment not that long ago.

But for what it's worth, if any administrators are wavering over the freedom-of-speech issues, I vote KICK HIM OUT!! He's not interested in intelligent comment or debate of any sort - all he wants to do is offend and upset as many of us regular forum users as he can. Classic internet troll.

Tarmach 15th May 2001 02:59

Found that Ronchonner is also on ICQ!

His ICQ number is 118077272.

He seems to be on the computer alot!

Tarmach 15th May 2001 17:52

I think I know who Ronchonner is, if anyone is still interested- if they were in the first place anyway!!:0)

foghorn 15th May 2001 17:53

tell us, go on!

SpeedBird22 15th May 2001 18:08

shivers run down spine...

UUrrrrrrh. Maybe he's not quite ready to be released into the community, then. Very scary indeed.

Will you call the police or shall I? :)

HomerSimpson 15th May 2001 18:08

Slipslide,

I think we should slate him on his own page!! Instead of letting him to it to us here.

**off to slate Ron for fun** :)

Homer ;)

Duff, Duff, that Wonderful stuff. Ummmmm Doughnuts

Slipslide 15th May 2001 18:14

He chickened out, his page is now closed.

Luke SkyToddler 15th May 2001 22:30

HAHAHAHAHA slipslide, homer and co, you are inspired!

Right everyone, from now on, every time he shoots his mouth off in here, lets all make an effort to ICQ him and tell him what we think of his politics.

I have my theories about who Ron really is as well. The more I think about it, I think I've met him once, in Africa, a few years ago, where he was trying to get work as a bush pilot. At least there are some very strong similarities in his appallingly bad grammar and general bad attitude. Suffice to say, things didn't work out for him ...

You're not originally Norwegian are you Ronnie? Were you hanging out in a certain nameless southern african country, summer of '97 - '98?

G-LOST 16th May 2001 00:38

Since things 'smoothed' down with the advent of JAR and after the general panic and uncertainty of the last couple of years, the wannabes forum has become very boring. Ronny is a small glimmer of light, so leave the insane bas***d alone!

VFE 16th May 2001 00:43

This Ronchonner thang's got far too scary for me!! I'm off mate!!

hassel 16th May 2001 01:13

If I had an airline I would consider rhonnie as an a$$$et. He would speak very highly of my company enjoy the perks and work very hard.

Tarmach 16th May 2001 02:24

Hey ronnie like the webpage!!

foghorn 16th May 2001 12:13

One day ronchonner will realise that trolling is not big, hard, clever or original, and will piss off back to the depths of USENET where he crawled from.

Tarmach 16th May 2001 13:51

Yes i have to agree with you there Foghorn. Perhaps theres a forum for the Psycho films that Ronchonner would be better suited to.

is Ronchonner a web designer by anychance?

Tarmach.

MikeSamuel 16th May 2001 16:14

Interesting that ronnie hasn't made a comment on this message...How about it Ronchonner, what have you got to say ;)

Regards

Mike

VFE 16th May 2001 16:49

Maybe, in the words of Vinny in 'Goodfellas' after blowing Tommy (Joe Pesci) away:

"eer, we had a problem and...y'know...he's gaaawn.....and dat's dat!"

Has he been banned then?

Tarmach 16th May 2001 17:15

Yes I would like to know aswell. So has ronnie been banned? - as he would say answers on a postcard please!! eheh

Crash Barrier 17th May 2001 14:01

Mike,
Chill out you miserable git! Ron provides a bit of harmless fun to an otherwise dull forum. If you get upset by something as trivial as Ron, then u will never make it in aviation. Besides, I reckon Ron has a point about this Jaa Exam B*****ks

Red Snake 17th May 2001 19:35

Wish I could create 2 pages of posts without even trying!

MikeSamuel 17th May 2001 21:06

Crash...For one, I don't see how you can draw a link between my aviation career and whether or not I am upset at ronchonner...
Also, I'm not upset, I only made this topic to express a clearly common view in the board. Most people come here for good advice on starting a great career, not to get annoying people moaning at the JAA. Surely this would be better in "Rumours and News"

Regards

Mike

Tarmach 17th May 2001 21:16

Is it not time to ask Ronnie and Arnaud- if its the same guy to leave this website?

Tarmach

GRpr 17th May 2001 21:24

MikeSamuel, I'm afraid that Crash Barrier is spot on.

johntrav69 18th May 2001 04:40

The website domain http://www.flashheaven.co.uk/ronchonner/ is registered to a David Moss - that mean anything to anyone?

I currently fly the lear for the rich n famous and have approx 2000 hours on tyoe.

I am also writing a number of boks for the aspiring pilot- 'how to become a pilot.'- this one is focused for the faa student pilot. And the jaa version of this book: ' how to become a poor JAA pilot with a yelow tatoo on his dick.'

Hope they have a good spellchecker.

And what the hell is the "yelow tattoo" thing about anyway? http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/confused.gif

This website is worth a quick look - there's much, much more of this. Cheered me up no end :)

foghorn 18th May 2001 12:48

David John Moss, a Denham-based PPL?

Capt Wannabee 18th May 2001 12:53

What is the yellow tattoo comment always made when talking about anyone from Europe.

If it’s meant to call us cowards and sissies (as he often does) then he couldn't be further from the truth. The determination and drive regularly displayed on these pages is second to none.
I acknowledge the system is expensive and that you may never make it but most people rather than complain and whine just get on with it and do their very best. I never expect to get a job (as Ronch does) from having an (F)ATPL but hope to get a job on my personal qualities and skills. Nobody owes us a job you have to earn it!
If Ronch put the same amount of effort into flying as he does into complaining and slagging European's off he would have no need to complain as he would be a chief pilot by now!!

I shall now climb off my soapbox and return to working hard to achieve what I want from life without constantly bitching about it.

P.S I do find his post's funny and sometimes brightens a boring day but it just annoys me when he digs at us, which he does less now but he could do with re-wording his web site.

Capt. Wannabee

I couldn't agree more. I am in awe of the commitment of the (genuine) wannabe's on these pages.

Crash Barrier 18th May 2001 18:08

I believe that the FAA system represents a
fairer way of obtaining licences and experience. Some friends of mine went through the 'experience' of sitting the old CAA CPL/ATPL examinations a few years ago when negative marking was in force. Having seen them fail the 'multi guess challenge' they went to the states and never looked back. The JAA exams I am told are just as bad with 90% of what you learn never actually being used in daily flying. I think it is a big money making farce designed by JAA states to weed
out rich from poor, the poor ending up with a big debt round their neck. The fact that some people do pass these exams does not make them
any safer or more competant than an FAA qualified pilot. For example the old IR test in the U.K. used established routes so that the candidate knew what they were getting. In the states it is not so, also the instructor rating stateside is more difficult than in the U.K.
The complete snobbery that I have seen displayed on these pages only reminds me that
the U.K.is not geared up to either general aviation or professional training...
I reckon Ron's spot on!

Delta Wun-Wun 18th May 2001 21:35

Crash,
No one is saying the JAA system is great,or that FAA is better than JAA.Most of us have no choice. If I want to fly then I have to comply with the latest JAA wim, it`s as simple as that....No I am not happy about and yes it is going to cost an arm and a leg,but I am not stopping and not going away.
