PFO 16th January 2001 13:15

Hi there,

Perfect PFL, unfortunately I am driving - cannot stay over as I am up early on Sunday morning - never mind!

I think a few people will be driving by the sound of it.

TimC - I am confused too - speak to Helen!!

PFO

TimC 16th January 2001 17:53

PFO: I've had an email from Helen, yes she was counting you in our group.

So that's two for me, not three :).

The Boy Lard 16th January 2001 18:00

Hey I'm back!!!
If only courtesy of the local Internet Cafe!

It looks like we are in for a full turnout - fantastic.

I've decided that I'm going to be sporting a couple of helium ballons with the PPRuNe logo on so that I'm easily spotable! Should be interesting.

In my opinion the more the merrier and if someone isnt a wannabe and they want to come, maybe we can convert someone!

I'm looking forward to meeting you all and putting faces to daft names - see you all on Saturday.

Keep replying to Brian Clough because my internet access at work is non-existant (Asking me to do some work is quite unreasonable if you ask me)

In answer to PFO's question I too am driving.

I live in Bottesford (A52 towards Grantham) and I'm picking up Mr Clough on the way in so if anyone lives near there I have room for two more.

Mail Cloughie for my telephone numbers if i can giv anyone a lift.

Cheers

You do know that the A52 is closed from saxondale roundabout into Nottingham don't you?

I have to find an alternative route as well.

See you saturday.

PFO 16th January 2001 22:45

Just out of interest, how old is everyone?

I'll start: 27 male

PFO

QNH 1013 16th January 2001 23:17

I'm 50, started flying 5 years ago, done 450 hours, and just got the IR, hence poor. Still don't know if wives, girlfriends etc coming.
For: I don't have to stay sober, can be driven back.
Against: She might find out how much we spend on training. That could be VERY expensive.
Suggestions??

TimC 17th January 2001 03:25

I'm 22 and male :).

If anyone has any info on RAF selection that ain't on my website www.timc.clara.net (shameless plug :) ), please can you bring it along. This is coz I'm going for RAF selection next month.

matelot 17th January 2001 12:17

Also 50 (what an age to get an adrenalin rush!) - nearly solo (a month?), just passed Air Law.

Cya Sat.

24 & male
ex UAS - trying to fund 0-ATPL course whilst in a terminally boring job.

My other half won't be attending as she's never seen Pprune and all she knows about flying is that I love it and thats all she wants to know ! (I'm working on the conversion though)

Perfect PFL 17th January 2001 14:02

23, male.

Also ex-UAS, 140hours, JAA PPL(A).
Trying to get sponsorship for either 0-ATPL, or PPL-ATPL. Got a job where it would take me about 50years to save up enough to self sponsor. :)

QNH 1013 19th January 2001 22:56

Where's a good place to park? Prefer to avoid expensive car parks if possible.
Look forward to meeting you all. I expect to be there at 1930Z.
I'm not bringing my better half because she can be unpredictable when the cost of flying training is discussed...

ps tried to post to the definitive thread but pprune wouldn't let me

Ja 19th January 2001 23:38

Hi.

Nice to meet you all, put faces to names etc.

When's the next one gonna be? I'll have to start flying in the meantime so that I know what you're all going on about next time :).

Shall we place bets on what Helens pprune nick will be? :)

matelot 22nd January 2001 12:28

aka DreamCatcher! - good to see you all. My ears have just stopped ringing after all the noise.

Thanks to TBL and others for the organisation. Takes a bit of faith when dealing with total strangers and possibly wind-up merchants.

Next one will be bigger and better.

Ping An - Be safe. :)

It was really good to meet you all on saturday evening!

Cheers.

Can't wait for the next meet/fly-in.

Schooner - email me!!!!!!!!!!!

PFO

matelot 24th January 2001 12:17

TBL - clear as a bell in WB, got along the ringroad just to run into a bank of fog (something to do with moist air over a lot colder surface and a light wind up to 7KT!)

Re-booked for Sunday, but then a skating rink because of snow and slush (you know, ICAO definition of heel/toe splatter - good for Air Law).

Cheers guys - and a Chapter web site would be useful.

If you want a hand building a site, go to www.army.mod.uk/rtmc/index.htm - my build.
