JAR Rules

Ladies and Gents,. .. .Does anyone know whether there is a rule with JAR that says once you have passed your ATPL theoretical examinations you then have ‘X’ amount of time to complete your professional flying courses? I am thinking along the lines of flying instructor course straight after my CPL, and have a sneaky feeling you have to pass your IR by a certain time after your ATPL’s have been passed.. .. .I know I should go to the CAA website, but I am trying to get my head around propeller theory, time is running out! . .. .Any input would be greatly received.. .. .Thank you. .. .CAT3C AUTOLAND. . . . [ 19 March 2002, 19:47: Message edited by: CAT3C AUTOLAND ]

Hi,. .I believe the rule you are refering to is to unfreeze the license, which is,...... .. .The exams are valid for 3 years to complete the training and 1500hrs, unless you pass your IR in which case it is 7 years (But IR must remain current). .I'm not certain so check the CAA website for a concrete answer.. .. .Regards Rodders.... . . . [ 19 March 2002, 21:18: Message edited by: Rodders ]

36 months from the date of your last pass in the exams to complete a CPL and IR.Exam credits are then valid for seven years from date of re-newal of IR.
