Can anyone give me a honest answer?
 

I am 34 years old and have a R22 and B206 rating .i have low hours and cannot decide whether to continue paying for the emense hours needed to become a commercial heli pilot.I love flying and all i see is "YOU NEED 100HOURS,YOU NEED 20HOURS ETC..."
IS IT WORTH THE STRESS AND MONEY.

I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel,please can anyone tell me what to do!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not a helicopter pilot but if you love flying, going commercial is the only way to be able to make a living at it. If you love it now you'll still love it then. There's your light! We all have to walk the tunnel.

Take a look at the requirements you are facing these days. Do a quick calculation how much time and money it will cost you to meet those requirements.

If the sum looks like you can do it, then do it!

But don't fling yourself into bankruptcy or neglect the rest of your life and environment by chasing this dream...

If heli flying is your pure passion you would not need to start this
thread.

You've probably been out of school for 12 to 18 years (depending on what you did) You have AT LEAST 26 YEARS !! before you'd have to stop commercial flying. That's a long time. You're young enough, if it's what you dream of.......DO IT, and good luck :) As Ed alludes, life is too short to look back at 60 and say " I wish I'd stuck at that flying lark"

Have you though about instructing to build hours. Rotary schools are short on instructors as most ex service pilots are turbine and would need to build piston time also rotary instructors earn £35+ an hour.
