CPL/IR training with SFT:Bournemouth
 

Hello everyone

I was hoping to contact some past students of SFT in Bournemouth as I wanted to find out about the establishment, what they were like, what the teaching both groundschool and fight was like, what sort of pass rates they had etc..

I am a PPL(A) holder wanting to go on to do the CPL/IR.
If anyone has been or knows someone who has been to the school, please contact me, as you all know when you talk to a school direct they are selling themselves and will NEVER tell it how it is, similarily other schools will not tell the truth because they want your business

go to the wannabees forum and there are many threads refering to SFT - either do a search or repost the request; many of the people who will have the answer to your query do not regularly check this forum

Hi used SFT for my twin IR and type rating all completed in just over 5 hours including the test . I give it a thumbs up .

Are you doing groundschool for ATPL as well?
I did the whole modular thing, from zero to 300 hrs blah blah!

Ground school was ( when i was there) bad as it had just started, may have improved? and had to go to PPSC who were excellent.

Flying for the bcpl, upgrade and IR were good infact IR training was very good. You need to find certain instructors at SFT who i would recomend you let teach you, some are very experienced and will get you through at a good pace but not neglect the fundamentals such as " I know how to do this but do i understand why?" if you get my drift.

Opps are very good and help you as much as possible get to know them they control who, when and time you fly ( may seem insignificant but trust me).
A/C are fairly reliable they use warriors, seminoles, aztecs and arrows no problems there!
Routes flown as part of syllabus cover all of the IR exam routes.

In general flying and organisation very good and i would recomend them to anybody for flying cant speak for groundschool!

Thanks for your advice, much appreciated, I am only a PPL at the moment and considering my next step, due to finance, may just be the ATPL exams at somewhere like LGU, Oxford etc... and then go on to do the training or time building before to get 150hrs

So what are you doing now
