Interview question please help
What is the best thing to say when you are asked this question....
"What other important duties and responsibilities apart from flying the aircraft does the flight crew have?". This ges asked many times in an interview whether you are a pilot or not. So please tell us what YOU said and your ideas and experiences. Cheers |
Hmmm. This does not strike me as a difficult question! My idea of a difficult interview question is:
"What are you worst at?" The answer of "I'm a pefectionist" usually provides an early exit. The next stumbler is: "What have you screwed up in the past?" If you say "Nothing" then bye bye. LOL! I would be suprised if these did not find their way into Airline interviews in some for or another. |
hmm, i would have thought that the lives of the 100+ people sat behind you might count as a big responsibility.

passenger comfort, safety and security seems like an obvious start.....good luck!

I think the key part of this is OTHER duties and responsibilities. The interviewers know that you know that you've got to fly the damn thing and make sure you land it with both wings and a full set of wheels - they want to know that you are aware of all the other little bits.
British Airways were/are big on flight deck crew being managers with good customer skills. So by mentioning that a pilot has to manage the staff on the a/c and deal with passengers in a way that represents the company blah blah blah would give you a good start. My idea of a difficult interview question is: "What are you worst at?" The answer of "I'm a pefectionist" usually provides an early exit. My best advice is to give one minor irrelevant thing, and turn it into something good...eg...'I get frustrated sometimes when teamates don't do their job that well....but I use it to motivate them'. You get the idea. Bye, BAW22:D |
