Aged to fly?

What is the average age of eveyone on the PPRUNE?
When i first started flying i thought i was relatively young. Now it seems like people are learning to fly whilst still at school and going solo on 17th B'Day.
I never bothered doing a degree and decided to get an apprenticeship in IT so i could pay to fly. I at least thought my age would go in my favour.
I was obsessed with flying ever since i was 7. I have always had the latest versions of MS Flight Simulator(sad) and this is where i learnt all my basic instrument knowledge. I have always understood planes but have never been interested in school work!.I passed all my GCSE's B's and C's
Do you think an airline would understand that i chose to fly rather than education. If so ignore me i am being paranoid!.
I am still interested in how old everyone else is though.
PS- Does any body know of a good school for ground school. I am thinking of LGU full-time. £2K --CHEAP AT DOUBLE THE PRICE-- I know this sounds like a sob story but the problem is that pilots are all too often placed on that 'Golden Throne' which seems impossible to achieve by all us mere mortals.

Very very VERY late 30's is a good age. Old enough to afford "it", too old for "it" to be any good. Give it to the kids, at least they’ve a chance to use "it"

Oh my god is this senility

Jetdriver 28th April 2001 05:23
