Training difficulties
 
During initial type rating, what part of training did you find most difficult to translate from sim to line ops? Not the obvious technical items, more the subtle stuff that only clicked later

Descent management. It isn't easy at the very beginning because you don't know what to expect from ATC.

For me it wasn't the flying, it was the workload management. In the sim everything happens when the instructor wants it to happen. On the line you're juggling weather, delays, passengers, ATC and random curveballs all at once. That mental pacing took way longer to learn than any procedure.
