What is happening at Acron Aviation?
I have heard that some Boeing courses are being transferred to other training centers in the UK. Anybody know the reason? Is Acron still a viable option for training?
|
Last thing I heard was Acron at Cranfield was going to be closing. Is that not the case now?
|
Acron stopped selling ATPL courses last year.
The Cranfield Academy closed at the end of August, with remaining UK trainees on the books past that point transferred to AFTA. All staff at Cranfield made redundant, all assests sold off. Inevitable based on how L3Harris managed it, and the smoke and mirrors around "Acron" taking it forwards. Can't speak on what's happening at the London Centre. |
I have been told no more EASA Boeing or Airbus training. They can now only train UK courses.
|
It appears EASA have suspended their ATO cert
|
I think some of the Cranfield fleet ended up with Leading Edge, Oxford. Not sure what's happened to their flight simulators.
Shame about their staff getting made redundant. |
Are the new owners getting rid of the ATO completely?

I did a EASA and U.K. 737 check in Gatwick a couple weeks ago so this is news to me!
|
If you did any renewal training it was probably not legal. They are having to repeat a lot of training. This ATO apparently has a lot of serious issues.

The UK was at the forefront of aviation training.
What has happened to this laughing stock of an island in the last 10 years? Capitalism? I would continue with my ideas but the moderation team will swoop on me quickly. |
