Ground School Instructors

Hey people,

Not sure if this is the right forum for this question, but here goes:

See those banner ads from GE Capital Aviation training for ground school instructors etc? Well what kind of qualifications do these posts require?? I know for a fact these guys don't have to be profesional pilots. So what do they look for?

Anyone?? http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/confused.gif

Cheers,

I think I replied on another thread to your question. Unless you have Grandfather rights, I think you will find that under JAR/OPS1 regs, you need to either hold, or have held a Professional Aircrew License, or |a Profdessional Aero Engineers licence.

The major requirement for ground instruction is professional aircrew experience either civil or military. As most of the exam material is military in origin military navigators are a favourite together with flight engineers and pilots with one leg.

As there is a shortage of people with the desired experience, a technical degree and teaching experience is a common starting point.

At the end of the day you need to be familiar with the material you are going to teach.
