Cost of modular training from zero to CPL
Hi guys, could someone please tell me the average cost of modular training from zero to cpl in the uk?
I visited Aeros the other week and they quoted me £95000 plus an additional £7000 enrolment feel which includes various bits and bobs which feels quite expensive for modular training? Is this the going rate for most modular courses in the UK now as it seems like it’s priced similar to an integrated course or is it overpriced? |
How is it ‘modular’ if you do all your training at the same facility?
Fulltime vs self paced? ’Modular’ implies you do the bits and pieces at different providers shopping for deals. That equals roughly $140K USD. For less than that you can do zero->hero in the US followed by EU conversion. |

The quote I was given was the breakdown of all the training modules added together. |
Only you can decide what your optimum path would be based on your circumstances.
Based on the cost alone I would recommend US/Canada followed by conversion. |

Modular Training options
Hey, i am very new to flying and only justbstarted my PPL. However, i have done a lot of research and finally decided to go with a company called Pilot Path Group who partnered with Ravenair.
It has been set up in a way where costs although will amount to £75k plus type rating costs when you join an airline are quite manageable. I have paid a 1K deposit (June) a further 2K to be paid before October and i automatically enroll with BGS ground School. There after its £470 installments or as much as I can afford until the course is completed over 18 months (£13470). I can immediately start studying for the PPL and have a couple or exams completed before i take my first Flight in September. The same set up for my ATPL with them amounting to a max cost of £21K. They also do the CPL which unfortunately they can support funding om due to length of course which is £30k all to be done around my day job and family life. Check them out. Called Pilot Parh Group. And maybe have a chat with their engagement manager Sean Cronin. They also have a good relationship with Ryanair where demand for work is high and you will do alot of hours but always good to get your flying hours and PIC hours up. |
I did a quick bit of research on this recently and totted up to approx £75-£80k.

Im almost finished and itll be about £80k all in all, 0 to fATPL

I reckon after all said and done, including all training, examiner and CAA fees, to get to CPL you’re looking at £60k ish as others have said, depending where in the UK you are

He bought a share in a Piper Arrow for hour building (now sold the share), and we estimate it has cost £92,000. |
.....or £89.5k for easyJet/ CAE MPL.

Is that the order he did it in? That would explain why it cost so much.

Its been done to death in other threads, but basically you need 200 hours to get a CPL but only 100(ish) to get an IR. By doing the IR then CPL you finish everything with 200 hours. By doing CPL then IR you pay for 45 more hours than you need to and spend an extra £15k.
