SpikyT - it sounds like we are in the same boat! Both at uni doing a course we dislike, and both not going to return if we get accepted by BA! However, with our aptitudes not until 30th August, and then at least a couple of months after that until final board, we won't know either way until about November!?!

So, I am also in the middle of exams, getting my head down, as much as I hate it, and trying to pass the year - reasonably well - so that I have something to fall back on, and something worthwhile to do until I get a final decision!!

Here's hoping - I heard about this scheme 7 years ago, and have always wanted to be a pilot. I don't know why I didn't apply last year after A-level results! Oh well, I'm doing it now so ..... (as you might have guessed yeah I am a first timer!)

I live in South Croydon (about 15 miles south of London) so I will probably be getting the train and tube to Cranebank. Although, I am working at LHR over the summer and will have free staff car parking, so depending where the car park I have access to is, I might drive.

Afew people have said that it is sometimes worth phoning up and asking for an earlier date! They say sometimes there is a cancelation! would really love to know earlier save my parents paying my tuition fees for next year, will need that money if I get accepted!
I am just up the road from heathrow in Uxbridge so it is no problem for me to get there!

I'm at Glasgow Uni studying Aeronautical Engineering. In 3rd year, haven't enjoyed it much either.Slogged on for three years applying for sponsorships whenever the rare opportunity comes up.

Has anyone got aptitude tests with BA on the 23rd of Aug, cos i'm getting a bit worried that I might have the date wrong from reading the other posts on this site.

P.S. I have been to the aptitude tests a couple of years back (unsuccesfull obviously). Likewise I found the content reasonably straight forward, just the time constraints that got me. I knew I had failed before I got the results. I received the results within a couple of weeks I think.

Question Do u have to pay your self for the class 1 medical? Just from quriosity asking...

OLYMPIC-no, if it is through BA they pay for EVERYTHING! you have to get through apptitudes and then the final board, then you get yur medical andf they pay!

Don't worry Glasgow I've been asked to go on 23rd August so I'll see you there!!!

Seems like the test days are weekly if memory serves me rightly. i.e 23, 30 Aug etc. See you guys and gals on the 23. Last time it didn't take half as long to get a date but i guess they're busy at the mo. I'm not complaining anyway!

Starting to wonder if I have got the correct date for my Aptitudes is anyone else going on the 16th of July?

Someone said earlier (Sorry can't remember who !!), that if you pass the tests, then a medical questionnaire is to be completed for your Doctor, before having to cart yourself off to Gatwick. I have already obtained my class 1 medical - What is the case if you already have a Class 1 medical ? Can you skip the Gatwick bit !?!? Can you get an AME to fill in the questionnaire !?! I thought the only difference between the BA Med and JAA Med was eyesight requirements and a HIV/Aids/Drug test, in which case doesn't the BA med dept do this !?!? Any help appreciated......

(By the way I'm off to sit tests 6th August... 2nd time lucky maybe eh ?..)

does anyone know if this is true?? someone said to me if u phone up and ask if theres any chance of moving yur date foward they can do that sometimes! myne isn't until the 30th august and I just wanna get it done!

sorry I am so late with my response you asked me if I got a flight well yes I did they never made a problem with that they phoned me up and asked what airport I want to leave from and I said Dusseldorf and the I was on hold for a couple of mins until they told me the date, time and flight number of my flight and a code to get my electronical ticket. I don't pay a penny for that so I wonder that you have to. Anyway maybe that is a good omen and I alos wonder that you have your aptitudes on a saturday would confuse me if I got that date,
