FAA PPL ground theory

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some book or website to prepare me for the FAA PPL theory exam.
I didn't start flying yet, but before to go to the US i would like to study the PPL theory.
Thank you for your help.

There are numerous options. Some of the books are as follows:

The Pilot's Manual Series, 2 volumes, "Ground School" and "Flight School." (my personal favorite)
Kershner's Student Pilot's Manual
The Complete Private Pilot by Bob Gardner
For video/DVD courses, the top two are:
King's Schools
Sporty's Pilot Shop

I don't think any are necessarily better or worse, just slightly different styles. Note that any of these are essentially taken from the FAA materials found in:
Airplane Flying Handbook
Pilot's Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge
Aviation Weather

These are FAA publications, and are available online for free. They may not have as well-organized study aids like quizzes at the end of chapters, etc., as some of the other publications.
I might suggest minimal expenditure by using the FAA publications as a start, until you figure out what flight school you'll be attending, and then you can obtain whatever specific books/video materials they may prefer to use.

I recently used quite a lot of Rod Machado's online material to get my FAA CPL - it was superb, and whilst not the cheapest, worth every penny in my opinion.

So I'd recommend RM's PPL package, on principle - https://rodmachado.com/products/rod-...-ground-school . Where I did my FAA certificates in the USA, several people - most not native English speakers - were using Machado material also, and were also very impressed with it.

That said, I'd also ensure you've downloaded and at the very least skimmed through the free FAA documents recommended by 340drvr.

+1 For Machado
Now studying for the EASA ATPL and I sometimes find myself wondering why it was easier (better) described in Machado‘s PPL book than in the EASA ATPL learning material...
