bmi regional

Has anyone heard back from bmi regional, after applying to the add placed in Flight International, 29 May - 04 June ?

Mr Magoo 15th June 2001 22:44

I've got a standard postcard back, is that thier way of saying PFO?

fireflybob 16th June 2001 11:23

I sent them a c.v. vial email on 2nd June and was a bit suspicious when I had not got a reply by 12th June.

I emailed them again and they replied that they had not received my orginial c.v.

I then tried twice to send my c.v. by email but they still said they had not received same.

I then gave up and sent it via snail mail!

Ivan Ivanovich 17th June 2001 16:52

Well! This post doesn't seem to be attracting much interest; obviously scant competition for us three to worry about!

I sent then a CV a few months ago and received an app for my efforts. Heard nothing after returning that, however resubmitted my cv following the ad in flight. ( I have many more hours and an MCC to update them with).

I then received the post card. I guess it's a standard response when actively advertising for pilots. May not be the end of the World, though. Live in hope rather than submission!

Captain Mainwaring 17th June 2001 19:06

I applied by e-mail at end of May and received an application form within 4 days.
I filled this in and returned it on 7th June.
I received a mobile phone call on 13th June offering an interview during week commencing 2nd July.
Sorry if you weren't successful (it came as a shock for me this time!) but you did ask!

YOU ARE ALL VERY POLITE. WE WERE ASKED TO RESPOND TO 'SUSAN PHILLIPS'; HAS ANYONE MANAGED TO DO THIS? DOES SHE EXIST AT ALL?

Mr Magoo 18th June 2001 01:29

Yes she does, and if you're reading this Susan you're a very nice person and I'd love an interview please!

(I think she's the chief pilots PA)

Got an app at the end of May from my CV. Sent it back but nothing since.

Flysundone 18th June 2001 23:18

Sent by CV by post and e-mail to Susan Phillips. No response to either. Perhaps it's because I'm 46 and looking for my first job.

Got the ticks in all the boxes and just under a thousand hours.

Someone, give me a break.

Ivan Ivanovich 18th June 2001 23:29

Capt Mainwaring

Just out of interest, what is your experience?

VSQUARED 19th June 2001 20:23

Still nothing, tried the second email of did you get my first. Nothing back. Well wait I must, thought I may have gotten a bite 2500 hours ex military. Who knows ??

Cruise Alt 19th June 2001 23:56

Spoke to bmi regional today to check they received my CV. The news hot off the press is that they have already contacted all those they are calling for interview in their next selection days. My application I was told has been filed! Oh well, back to the drawing board :-(

Captain Mainwaring 20th June 2001 14:52

Ivan - I am over 35 and have an ATPL with a few hundred hours on turboprop and currently work for Emerald.
However, this is the first other airline to show any interest in me.

zoru 20th June 2001 17:00

Capt Mainwaring
have you received a confirmed date yet..?

Captain Mainwaring 21st June 2001 20:55

Zoru - yes. 2/7/2001.

DeltaT 3rd July 2001 19:06

Very interesting this email thing.
I too sent mine in just after the advert. Only to call last week to see what was happening, and they never got it!!
Same address copied and pasted from the first, then sent, telephoned, they got it that time. But probably too late now.
