ATPL integrated problem
Hello everyone ,
I am in a flight academy for almost 15 months now abroad, everything went good till now , i finished all the atpl theory and started the flying phase with around 40 hours of flying , since everything worked as planned with them i paid 2 money deposits leaving 1 till the end of the this month .BUT now everything turned bad , broken planes , no instructors , no proper management and all i can say it isnt the academy i started with ! I feel really bad especially cause i am visa restricted and i need to finish my integrated course asap before summer but it seems they dont care ! I am thinking of leaving them , going back home with my theory exams and some flight hours and search for another flight school although ill lose money , or stay with headaches from them every day and hope for the best . Please guys i need your help to decide . |
Is it in Greece?

OK, your location is Greece so we can assume you are signed up with an ATO in Greece and that you have taken your EASA exams under the auspices of the Greek HCAA.
You can transfer your exam theory credits to another EASA member state but you will need the cooperation of your current training provider to do this, and from what you have written, that does not sound very likely. Saying that, aircraft do break down, especially when they are flown for many hours every day as is the case with training organisations. They need good maintenance plans with a good Part 145 AMO looking after the training fleet, preferably on the same aerodrome! How many aircraft and students does the ATO have? What is the student to instructor ratio? Were these numbers made known to you when you started? More importantly, why have the instructors left? Are things likely to improve? And above all else, don't forget that your EASA ATPL theory credits are only valid for three years from the date of the last exam. Some points for thought. 2close |
