Opinions about PadPilot for ibooks for ATPL?

There is a free Maths and Physics book that you can download and see how you get on...

Some of the interactive models/video/stuff is very good.

And they update themselves through iStore....

Our students seem to like them.

Found it to be a bit too light on details. Nice for quick brush ups, preferred Peter's Software/Jeppesen. Peter's has since been purchased by Boeing so I don't know about availability now.

Is/was Padpilot not L3s/CTCs primary theory tool?

I've been generally told by cadets/bloggers that while it covers the topics, many end up purchasing more training materials to get a better depth than Padpilot provides..

Light on details?
Each is entitled to his own opinion but I am quite surprised at that comment.
It is probably the most in-depth material out there.
It actually tries to teach you the subject not just guide you to the 'get rich quick' with 'as little effort as possible' solution via learning rote answers from an on-line question bank.
Funnily enough, my students who use it 'complain' that it goes into too much depth.

As I said, each to his own, though.

As a distance learner I would hazard that for Integrated full time student's it may be possible to devote your entire life to learning 5 subjects at a time in their entirety, for those of us who have other responsibilities books and question banks are invaluable to focus the learning, especially for the more heavy subjects.

Exactly! One thing I took from university is not to trust only one source of information. PadPilot was nice when I started the QBs, but like you wrote, distance learning needs more details than the integrated folks.
