I use a Jepp leather flight bag, bought for me by my wife a while back. Best bag I have ever used.

I carry with me

Passport
Licenses
Sunglasses
Clipboard
Some laminated info cards
iPad
PJ's if required for the flight.

Less is more!!

Headset
Kneeboard with scrap paper, chart & checklist
Flight planning paraphernalia - pen, whizzwheel, protractor etc
Logbook
Licence
Hi viz vest for when visiting larger airfields/ airports.

Plenty of room for lunch to go in on top of all that.
