Cheapest AFI in the UK???

Message for a mate:-

Where can he find the cheapest AFI rating in the UK???

Try Tayside Aviation, Dundee if you're friend is north of the border. Not neccessarily the cheapest but pretty much guaranteed work on the RAF Flying Scholarship scheme afterwards.

I don't own to company so this isn't a free advert, but I did work for them in Perth summer '97 & '98

RAF FSs are to be no more! so I read in flyer or pilot I think.........?

Did mine a while back at Essex Flying School at Earls Colne (nr Colchester). CFI is Bill Stitt, very good instruction and resonable rates.

Any other suggestions for a West Londoner? Preferably with a club that'll employ you afterwards (dream on). Or would I be wiser to blow 6 grand on hours building in the States and then get a job in Burger King - I've heard they pay better than MacDonalds.

AFI Rating ceased in 1999.

Hi,
Peterborough Conington have just started offering a AFI course for £4410 all in on the C152.
I don't know how this compares to other places.

Hiya tas, how's Norwich??
Unfortunately Bill Stitt is no longer with Anglian flight centres at Earls Colne. All very complicated and very boring reasons why.
But, I understand he will be doing FIC on a freelance basis from either Elmsett/Crowfield or Cambridge. I did my instructors rating with him and I can also vouch for its quality. Don't know what the cost will be now, but it was £5000 18 months ago. I'll try and find some contact details and post them ASAP.

Avoid Waltham unless you like to pay high prices for abuse from the instructor.
