FTE Jerez Modular
Hi All
Interested to hear from anyone who has recently done their CPL/IR at FTE Jerez. Was considering them along with others although the price is slightly more expensive. PM if you like |
Why is Jerez so expensive?
I understand why Oxford is overpriced. It's all because of the name and their reputation.. But Jerez! Doesn't have the same 'ring' to it, does it. So why the high price tag? I don't believe I'd do the whole thing at Jerez. Conversions look like a reasonable bet though. But with the price at Lodz being so inexpensive. It makes me wonder why were doing a FAA Comm/Inst/Multi first when a ATPL (f) is our goal. Looking and reading around, I'd say that Lodz, Poland is the best value out there. I'd say that FTE it's slightly more than just slightly more expensive. What numbers are you coming up with? Let's compare notes. Pound for pound, not pound for kilo. |

So why the high price tag? A few years ago BA were taking many cadet pilots from FTE and probably still do. In previous years while the GBP was strong against the Euro, it has made FTE the cheapest of the 3. But today I can't imagine there is much between the 3 schools. I'd be interested to read the latest figures. |
Just found this from February 2015:
Cadets are given the choice of carrying out their training with one of three Approved Training Organisations (ATOs): CTC Aviation, CAE Oxford Aviation Academy or FTEJerez. |
So Jerez is a cut above the rest.
Sometimes your first inclinations are correct. For when we first embarked on this plan, my original idea lead me towards Jerez. Then, as usual, I overthought and over complicated the situation. Jerez does seem to have the best information on FAA conversions. Only problem was dumping a young girl off in Spain on her own for nine/ten months. So we don't want to do the written course there, just the conversion. We'd rather have her in the UK for the six months ground school where we can visit and have relatives close by. Of the UK residential courses provided by BCFT, CTC, CATS, FTA, CAE, Pathway, ProPilot and SFC. Are there any that do not allow a modular route? I'm sure they are all very high quality and all completely suitable. It all really comes down to housing and start dates and the ease of us being able to visit. Strangely enough Pathway would be easiest as her mother could fly Edinburgh trips. |
FTE Jerez and Fly-In-Spain Jerez are two separate companies?
This gets more confusing every day. I was comparing the price of FTE with what F-I-S was offering and wondering why it was so expensive. No wonder. But I did learn the FTE Jerez has some more university options other than the Kingston |
