ATPL Nav tests???
 

which calculator would be recommended for me to play the ATPL nav games with?

any certain plotters, protractors that work better with the current tests?

in the catalogue i have there are 4 protractors and 8 plotters.

what other tools will i need? (besides a personal oxygen bottle) i need to take ALL the ATPL exams!

Most schools state that a CRP-5 is required for the ATPL's. There are several types about, but generally, in my class, it appears that everyone has a Pooleys type. Hope that this assists....good luck :)

Any reasonable cheap non-programmable scientific calculator will do. We recommend the Casio fx85, but there are lots of others. You don't need a specialist navigation calculator, such as the Jeppesen.

CRP-5, Douglas (square-shaped) protractor, and the Pooley ruler with a quarter-mill scale on one edge and a half-mill on the other.
You won't need a ruler that measures in inches or centimetres.

Dividers/compasses that don't have a screw mechanism to change the distance - Rotring are probably the best.

A propelling pencil with an HB lead of 0.5 mm diameter.

And either a chinagraph or a WATER-BASED felt-tip to mark up the wind face of your CRP-5. Staedler Lumocolors are a good make - but get the grey-barrelled ones - they are water-based and removable. The black-barrelled ones are spirit-based and permanent - you don't want one of them.
