Oxford Aviation Flying Academy ,Advice Needed
 

Hi Friends,

I have recently visited Oxford aviation academy as i want to join their integrated training program.

I am a 33 yr old indian national. I was in the UK for a 4year period on work visas, then for the past 2yrs I was in india and Dubai, I have just came back to the UK on a spouse visa. They told me the fee for integrated course is around £83000 excluding accommodation.

I can now manage this fee but have been told that there is a high risk involved as after completion of my course , i can not apply for jobs with any european airline because of my visa status as airlines requirement is european passport.:ugh:

Also the major factor is my age and airlines will not consider me as they have option to hire young pilots.

Can you please suggest me:confused:, whether i should do this training course as the possibility of airline jobs is very slim.:confused:

If an FTO is saying it's high risk, then that should answer your question. Though not impossible, being over 30 is going to reduce your chances of getting in a major carrier.

In my humble opinion you must be mad to do this with the cash & your particular significant risk factor. Other options are available but the EU passport might well be a show stopper.

Why not consult the Indian/Asian carriers and ask for some opinions there?See,there are thousands of candidates with licences,who were born here,that can't find jobs.It will be difficult to convince them to hire someone on a Visa,Unless you have a Unrestricted work visa,but correct me If I'm wrong,to get those Visas you would need a business to sponsor it?no airline will sponsor that….I don't know mate.

And bloody hell, £83K??? :eek: certainly they can't justify that price tag on "oil price" since you guys barely touch the planes at OAA,specially the MPL programmes…

But just to let you know that i have Unrestricted work visa, but i can only apply for indefinite leave to remain or british passport after 3 years.
