CAA ATPL Performance Examinations

Yet again the geniuses at Gatwick strike again with their never-failing-to-amaze level and depth of knowledge of aviation and attention to detail.

Apparently (and, whilst not personally witnessed, the information has come from several sources) a question in yesterday's ATPL(A) Performance examination referred the reader to Section 3 (MEP) but asked for a landing distance of a MRJT aircraft (the generic B-737) (taking off from a grass strip) with answers being provided in pounds (weight!).

Oh, come on!!!!

Surely, even the most miniscule level of quality control by a 10 hour PPL(A) student pilot would have spotted this.

When is someone going to regulate the regulator?

:ugh:

It is incredible that the CAA thinks of itself as a regulatory authority, when in reality it is a sub division of the Airlines. Moreover it is incapable of producing professional examinations from it's own syllabi/ learning objectives. What impression does this leave us with?:ugh:
