Future pilots A levels
Hello!
I am passionate on becoming a commercial pilot, and would be grateful of a bit of advice. Last week I got asked to leave physics at college, due to low test results and need to pick a substitute for it. I already do geography, use of maths and travel and tourism. I would be very appreciative of any advice from people that are 'in the know'. |
Future pilots A levels
Realistically, good grades in topics you enjoy!
I have A Levels in Geography, Biology, Latin and General Studies... |
Seriously, something you really enjoy. Maybe a new language or computer science.
|
A language would be good.
But as said, if you do subjects you enjoy you will do well in. People who say "well what use is subject xyz for your career?", well what use is a D in physics in your career? Especially as a lot of cadet schemes require 2 good a-levels. I don't think they have to be maths and physics though. |
Thank you for your answers.
Since maths and physics is something I enjoy doing (on the rare occasions that I understand it!) I have decided to take them as A levels on distance learning courses, while doing PPL and then hour building on the side. Having the edge on other candidates for a job is important, and I guess you can't go wrong with those two subjects. Might do a language next year. Many thanks again. |
