IR Revalidation. CAA Charges
Hi. I've revalidated my IR in the sim. Usually I've done it in the aircraft. The examiner has put an extey into my ratings page in my licence. Can anyone tell me if I need to pay the £89 fee to the CAA for a revalidation or is it only for renewals. As the examiner has put it in the ratings page then I don't see why I'd need to pay for the CAA to basically put it in the ratings page. Confused. I know I had to for the renewal as the examiner didn't put it on the ratings page as the rating had expired as had the multi.

If the examinor writes on your page you don't pay anything.
If you need to send it into the CAA you have to pay. |
Thanks forte reply. Would anyone happen to know under what circumstances you would need to send the paperwork into the CAA? Examiner has signed the ratings page.

you always need to send the paper work after the test to the CAA.
When the examinor can't sign the licsence on the spot is when you have to fill out a payment sheet. |
The only time the CAA will charge is when they take administrative action on the licence. This is only the case for an initial issue or renewal where the rating has expired by more than 3 years, where the examiner is not permitted to make an entry into the licence.

That's great thanks for your response. So it's kid a paperwork exercise. I just need to send in the paperwork I won't actually get anything back?
