CPL requiremnts

can anyone please advise re reqs for the CPL my understanding is 150 total flying hours, however, exactly what is the breakdown of this eg P1, dual, cross country distances, and what type(s) of aircraft are complex - retractable ? single ? multi ? with variable pitch prop (s).

or is a complex aircraft one that is difficult to get into ...

also is it possible to have the opportunity to take the skills test in a retractable/complex type and pick up the type rating at the same time..?

You need a minimum of 150hrs to commence the CPL course of which at least 100 must be P1.You need a total of 200 hrs for licence issue of which 5 hrs must be night.

All of the licensing requirements are contained in a document called JAR-FCL1. It should be available in all flying schools and it is available on the web at www.jaa.nl.

The requirements for a CPL are:

INTEGRATED COURSE: 150 hours to include:

a. 80 hours dual of which 5 may be instrument ground time (STD)

b. 70 hours PIC

c. 20 hours X-Cty inc a 540 Km X-Cty with two intermediate stops.

d. 5 hours night

e. 10 hours IF of which 5 hours may be conducted in a STD

f. 5 hours in an aeroplane having 4 seats, a VP prop and retractable undercarriage.

MODULAR COURSE:

200 hours to include: a PPL and 150 hours experience prior to starting 25 hour modular course. The 200 hours must include:

a. 100 hours PIC

b. 20 hours x-cty inc 540 Km X-cty with two intermediate stops

c. 10 hours instrument time (5 may be STD)

d. 5 hours night

The Skill Test must be taken in an aeroplane with 4 seats a VP prop and a retractable U/C. You will get either a SEP or MEP Class rating, there is no "type rating" for complex singles or twins.
