Cabair ground school

Hello there,

I have been living under a rock a bit for the last few months and have only just found out about the issues with my g/s provider. I have paid up front for this course and am fearful that could be the end of my course. I have taken 6 of the exams with 8 remaining.
I was wondering if anyone else here was in a similar position or if anyone knows if I can get the remaining learning material I need. Any info or pointers in the right direction would be great.
Due to recent events, I am not in a position to pay for another course and I fear the worst.

Thanks for reading this post

If you paid by credit card then all may not be lost.
You can contact the card company and they can sort out the reimbursement and they will take up the fight.

Check who you had the contract with and then check them out on the Companies House website, Cabair is a group of companies that have not all gone out of business.

Someone I know was told by the Cabair office that the company that owed him money had gone bankrupt, this was not true as they are still trading and he has just served them with a Statutory Demand.

Thanks for the response folks. Hopefully I may be able to make the best I can of the situation. I'm sure my loss is peanuts compared to some so I will count myself lucky

I thought I read an article in the current FTN issue saying Cabair were back in business and the cadets have gone back to continue their training? (albeit having to cough up a bit more money)

Only for Cranfield students - not Bournemouth EPTA students.

Smoke & mirrors

Cabair is made up of nine Cabair company's and the company that leases the Cabair group it's aircraft.

The practice of setting up a company to continue business after another company has been let go into bankruptcy is known at pre packing, it is becoming a big problem in the UK as it lets people run up a string of debts and then walk away from them only to set up in the same business days later.

You can expect to see government legislation to stop this in the near future.

Some of the cabair company's are in administration and others are still operating, I shal leave it to you to decide if this is a case of pre packing and if you would want to trade with a group of company's that goes bust one day and then resurfaces the next having shed all it's debts while keeping all its assets in another company.

EPTA is long gone....FRP Advisory are handling their liquidation......

Don't think that you will see anything from them and they had large sums owing to them from Cabair....

So please be aware that the new Cabair is the same as the old Cabair that ripped everyone off, just has a minor name change help everyone think that did not stich everyone up and run off with loads of money....

Do not pay this company upfront! You have been warned.

I lost my money to them but recovered it by chance elsewhere.

Good luck and all the best with your training.
