JAA ATPL Theroy and flight training
 

I have seen this question before I think but an answer....Not sure?

I have jaa/Norwegian Private singel engine license.

I want to take Jaa ATPL license, all of it in Florida. Is this possible? Fulltime.
And if some one knows of schools for this in the Fort Lauderdale area.

Yes you can, but you will need to do 1 exam back in europe.

In Fort Laud. area, only school I can think of, is PFTC @ hollywood airport. However, I would not recommend them.
Go rather to EFT at Fort Pierce or PIA at Daytona.

Also there is OFT and Naples that offer what you are looking for.

OFT: phase two is in the UK and that is IR

Naples: JAA Instrument Rating Conversion 3 weeks 15 hours*** $7,900.0 and looking at the *** you get:
NON USA training, conducted in a Piper Seminole, Seneca II or
B737NG Sim, these prices given as an estimation only based on
average of UK flight training facilities.

And when it comes to PFTC i cannot find anything on their website about JAA
My understanding is that you have to do the flight training in europe for the IR. Perhaps you could get away with the 10h in simulator and ground school and do 5 in airplane in europe and exam.

A JAA IR has to be carried out in JAA airspace. Simples.

You could do it at EASA in ormond beach. There is part of the IR that must be done in the UK though as well as MCC of course but they have a new package for this

Johnny Bekkested is right. Part of the IR has to be done in European airspace.

737-NG: EASA has module 7 in the US and module 8 in the UK.

Yupp, you got it right. MOST of flying you can do in US.
IR have to be done in europe.
Theory you can do in US as well.

You need to confirm what country allows for this agreement. Example I doubt Norway will, the ATPL exams as far as I know are normally under CAA UK, so this means your JAA IR training/ skills test must be in the UK.

I am fairly sure that all your skills tests, CPL/ME has to be done in UK airspace.
Going to the USA, will not make big difference in the price, when you add in all the extras, but of course it is nicer in the sun in Florida.
Probably will mean few extra hours, as UK airspace/weather etc. is not exactly the same as US, needs a little getting used to.

UK CPL skills test has a few nasty surprises, as your Nav target might actually be a wind sock from an old unused airfield from second world war in the middle of a field.
Has taken many US trained pilots by surprise. Norway would be easier to fly in, as terrain is more easy to recognize. But I believe all these JAA training schools are approved under UK CAA, it might have been changes lately that I am not aware of.
But normally you must do your skills test in the same country as your ATPL's are under.
