search option - where's it gone
 

sorry, i may have just be plain stupid, but what's happened to the search facility?

Will it be returning, or am i just looking in the wrong place?

Apparently,
"We have temporarily turned search off. Once we have a better understanding of the load this new software puts on the server we will turn search back on."

I had the same question a few days ago.

HAving talked to Capt Pprune himself at the seminars in the summer the search engines put a large load on the servers and can seriously affect the running of the BB. As a result whilst they are upgrading the BB they normally turn it off to allow the BB to run succesfully.

I did mention to the King Ppruner that us wannabees found it extremely useful and he did say that he would try and keep it running. I beleive he said that if three or four people are trying to use it at once it just really slows the server.

I know it is a pain - especially if you have crucial interview tomorrow! but they do a grand job and do realise the problems.
