A couple of modular questions

A quick couple of questions with regards to the modular route:
1) Why, on Staplefords website, does it quote £19500 +718 for the ATPL at LGU, whereas most other schools quote £3500 +718?

2) is it a good idea to get PPL, Night, ATPL exams, CPL, and then do the FI(R). Have a job as flying instructor until about 1000 hrs and then do the IR and MEP. By this time you will have slightly more money as well?

Any opinion would be grateful.

I assume by £19500 you actually mean £1950 - this will be the price for a distance learning course, where as the £3500 is more inlign with full time ground school courses.

Personally I would recommend going the flying instructor route although on the wages you will get as a flying instructor you are unlikely to be better off financially.

hi daviesm
I believe it must be a typing /printing error should read £1950.00 + £718 for exams. Have you considered doing your class 1 med, before you start spending alot of dosh?

Guildhall are subsidised so are cheaper than most places, the £1900 was for the full time course, though O think it has recently gone up to about £2100
