JAA ME/CPL/IR to FAA

Quick question, is converting a JAA ME/CPL/IR to FAA absolutely required to work in Canada and if so, anyone any experience of doing so or similar ?
I gather it's "harder" to convert FAA to JAA.

I think that to work in Canada is required a TC license.
