SEIR to MEIR
What's involved in the above conversion? Is it a matter of getting the multi engine rating and then repeating the whole IR test in a multi engine a/c? If so, is there then extra training in MEIR ops or is it just a reduced format effectively for the second IR test (or a repeat of the whole test to include asymmetric ops)? Thanks.

SEIR to MEIR
Today's lesson is taken from the book of bull!!!! (which baffles brains), LAS 2008, chapter E, verse 1.2:
SE IR(A) to ME IR(A)* a. 5 hours instrument time under instruction in ME aeroplanes, which may include (b); b.3 hours in FNPT II or Flight Simulator if approved by CAA; c.Pass a ME IR(A) Skill Test with a UK CAA Staff Flight Examiner. * The holder of a SE IR(A) wishing to upgrade to ME IR(A) shall either:hold a multi-engine type/class rating, or have at least completed an approved course of training for the ME class rating or:10 hours in a FNPT II or flight simulator. Thanks be to our Lord that is Adonis. But not for much longer, one hopes. Speak with Aerodynamic Malaga (Gine Cook); she will be able to cobble something together - they are having a sale at the moment, to boot! |
