Festive hat eating

Good old WWW made a couple of promises a year ago that I'd like to remind him of as there was a bet involved on the 10th of Dec 08 about one of them:

I promise Wannabes on pain of eating my Kangaroo skin hat with salt and pepper that in 2009 several significant EU airlines will go bust. By several I mean >10 and by significant I mean having more than >30 jets.
The bet was WWW's hat vs a £100 donation to the PPRuNe fund. Whilst I have every sympathy with those that have lost their jobs in the last year I don't think WWW's total has been reached so I invite him to start tenderising his hat ready to do the deed. January the 1st was the date suggested by pilotmike and, to show no hard feelings, I'll make the donation anyway.

WWW - hat time!

Hey Alex, just give it a few more months....................WWW wins a morale victory here I feel.

Would BA count for all 10? :}

Alex Whittingham 17th December 2009 16:38

er... yes. At that point I'd pay the money and retire into the corner to cry. FlyGlobespan is bad enough and they only had nine aircraft, let alone thirty.

...don't ba have 230 or something? think they passed the 30 mark a while ago...

Now there is a hollow victory if ever I saw one given the awful awful outlook for recruitment....

That said I look forward to seeing photos of the hat eating....:oh:

Alex..you are a diamond..

..and a credit to this profession. (Jeez I remember doing revision in that frozen shed in Lydd about 300years ago!!) My flying finished now and multiple-sclerosis bites a little bit more out of me every day... but I'll always remember your professionalism and good humour. I'll match your £100 donation to the Pprune fund today, thanks old friend. bm:ok:
